Pucllana fue un centro ceremonial de la cultura Lima, construido entre los años 450 y 650 d. C. La pirámide, conformada por diferentes plataformas superpuestas, fue el lugar donde se realizaron ceremonias y banquetes, en los que el mar fue el elemento principal.

Su importancia en la historia trasciende a sus constructores, los Lima, pues, tras su abandono y bajo la influencia de la cultura Wari, la cima de la pirámide fue utilizada como un cementerio de élite. Siglos después, los pobladores Ychsma, reconociendo la sacralidad del lugar, realizaron ofrendas y enterraron a sus muertos.

Pucllana was a ceremonial center of the Lima culture, built between 450 and 650 AD. The pyramid, made up of several overlapping platforms, was the place where ceremonies and banquets were held, in which the sea played a central role.

Its historical significance transcends its builders, the Lima people, as after its abandonment and under the influence of the Wari culture, the top of the pyramid was used as an elite cemetery. Centuries later, the Ychsma inhabitants, recognizing the sacredness of the site, made offerings and buried their dead.
