La historia de Pucllana es la historia del gran centro ceremonial de la cultura Lima, pero lo es también, y con la misma importancia, la de todos los hombres y mujeres que modelaron uno a uno, con sus manos, los millones de adobes que lo conforman, colocados verticalmente formando inmensas paredes que asemejan a libreros.

Los adobes de Pucllana sufrieron una serie de cambios en su forma a lo largo del tiempo, hasta convertirse en los bloques de barro paralelepípedos rectangulares que configuraron la mayor parte de sus estructuras durante su auge arquitectónico. Un simple ladrillo, hecho de tierra y agua, comprende la unidad mínima de una infraestructura que ha sobrevivido 1500 en el tiempo.

The history of Pucllana is the history of the great ceremonial center of the Lima culture, but it is also, with equal importance, the story of all the men and women who, one by one, shaped with their hands the millions of adobe bricks that make up its structure—placed vertically to form immense walls that resemble bookshelves.

Over time, Pucllana's adobe bricks underwent several transformations in shape, eventually becoming rectangular parallelepiped mud blocks, which formed the majority of its structures during its architectural peak. A simple brick, made of earth and water, represents the smallest unit of an infrastructure that has survived for 1,500 years.
