Pucllana and the sea

Heirs of the sea, their connection was not only reflected by their proximity to the ocean, which is 2 km away, and the importance of marine resources for their subsistence, but also that many of the objects recovered in archaeological excavations since 1981 present a close relationship with the sea: designs of waves, marine animals, fish and sharks were represented in ceramics, textiles and others.

Furthermore, during the ceremonies related to the architectural remodeling, banquets and rituals were held where the shark played a central role.
